About

Gregory Duncan

Hi, I’m Greg — Gregory Duncan, technically, if you’re going by my resume.

I have a knack for noticing paradigm shifts early, and then figuring out how to actually put them to work inside an organization. Sometimes that’s realizing a practice or convention everyone assumed was the way of doing things could genuinely be better for the people using it. Sometimes it’s a bigger shift than that. Either way, it’s become something of a pattern.

One thing I’m consistently told I’m good at is taking something complex and messy and getting people to a shared understanding of what the actual problem is and what to do about it. You can see that pattern play out in the case studies — three different problems, three different organizations, one consistent approach.

At Keller Center, I headed strategic working sessions with leadership and faculty to design the Center’s purpose, its communications strategy, and its design initiative, which led to an eventual Design Minor. I led a task force to create a unified framework for collecting, managing, and using data to enable strategic decision-making, and more working sessions than I can count to develop numerous business processes.

Along the way I’ve also rebuilt more than a dozen university websites to be genuinely accessible. Not “we checked a box” accessible. I’m a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).

These days I’m doing with AI what I’ve done with every other big shift: trying to figure out what it actually changes, not just what it can technically do. I build things with it — personalized workflows, real working websites — because I’ve found the fastest way to understand a new tool is to use it to make something real, not read a think piece about it. In fact, I built this very site with Claude Design, Claude Code, GitHub, and Vercel.

I studied Psychology at Princeton, which turns out to be more useful than you’d expect when your job mostly involves building consensus around a different way forward than the one everyone started with. I’ve talked about UX, eGovernment, digital strategy, and responsible innovation at more than a dozen national conferences, earning the highest speaker ratings of the conference at least five times. Over the years, I was invited by three different Princeton professors to present to their entrepreneurship and design students, which still feels a little surreal.

On a personal note, since 2022 I’ve been pretty much obsessed with seeing how far credit card, hotel, and airline points and miles can take my family and me — so much so that friends try to avoid saying words like “points” and “miles” around me, just to avoid getting me started. I really can’t help myself. Most days you’ll find me either planning the next trip or working on the business I started to help other people do the same.

Right now I’m looking for my next role — somewhere in UX leadership, digital experience, or accessibility, ideally somewhere the hardest problems haven’t been properly figured out yet. Those are my favorite kind. If that sounds like your organization, let’s talk.
